- Random Encounters should be generated whenever somebody rolls a natural "1" for Initiative.
- The model/models generated are placed immediately. Roll a Scatter Dice and place them in contact with the board edge indicated on the arrow. If a "Hit" is rolled, they may be placed in the centre of the board and then scattered 2D6 using the Scatter Dice to work out their final arrival point - this can represent flying or burrowing creatures, or perhaps creatures crawling from vents and tunnels.
- Once their position is finalised, each player completes their first Activation and then the "Monsters" activate, like a third player. The NPCs will always move to attack the nearest visible target, with their Actions decided by dice roll, the Arbitrator or a neutral third party (Move and Shoot, Charge etc.)
- Rules for each NPC will be provided.
